History of the Chuck Taylor All Star:
1917: Creation with the first name: All Star.
1922: Charles Hollis Taylor (Chuck Taylor) joins Converse as a sales representative. An emblematic US basketball player at the time, he allowed the brand to make a name for itself in this sport and to become a must on NBA courts. His name was then added to the name of the model in 1934, which gave it its current name, the Chuck Taylor All Star.
1934: Its name changes to Chuck Taylor All Star, in thanks to Charles Hollis Taylor for the commercial development of the brand in the United States. He helped develop and improve the technical aspects of the shoe to make it more and more suitable for basketball.
In the 1950s, with the birth of rock 'n' roll, the Chuck Taylor All Star began to be adopted by counter-cultures with a bold rebel spirit.
1957: Introduction of the low-top version of the All Star sneaker.
1971: Launch of seven new colours for the Chuck Taylor All Star model to allow basketball teams to match their sneakers to their strip. This was the big turning point for the All Star, from basketball shoe to iconic sneaker. Converse continues to release new colourways each season with its Seasonal Colour pack.
