In the name of women
Sneaker: feminine noun

Courir is proud to place women at the heart of its raison d'être. The company is reinforcing its proactive policy of feminizing its brand, while making inclusion a priority in its commitment to society. This singular commitment in the world of sneakers is reflected in the celebration of women's design, the feminization of its teams, the diversification of its collections and the valorization of its customers, both here and abroad.

But Courir doesn't stop there. Its unique feminine bias is reflected in its commitment to parity, a priority objective for the brand that has been reflected in a steady rise in the proportion of women in its workforce in managerial and directorial positions since 2018, from 36% in 2018 to 55% by the end of 2021.

A copy equality index
Courir is strongly committed to combating pay inequalities between men and women. The equality index assesses the level of parity between women and men over 100 points, based on various criteria. The gender equality index will rise from 80/100 in 2021 to 99/100 in 2022. Moreover, Courir's score is much higher than the regulatory 75, in line with the company's ambition to be the preferred retailer for women, which is underpinned by an inclusive and committed HR policy.

Pink Spirit_
For the past two years, Courir has sponsored the Pink Ribbon association through its Pink Spirit operation. The company's aim is to change the way people think about breast cancer, and to mobilize the younger generation to combat preconceived ideas while promoting prevention. Every October, Courir pledges to donate €5 to the association for every purchase of a sneaker model from their Pink Spirit selection, and since 2023 has been running a micro-donation campaign in 200 of its French stores for the duration of the Pink October operation. In 2023, Pink Spirit raised nearly €42,000 for the fight against breast cancer.

Embody
Diversity and inclusion with pride
At Courir, we want diversity to be a consequence, not a goal. It's a subject intimately linked to the world of sneakers, rooted in a melting pot as vast as that of its famous designers and icons.

Mission handicap
BECAUSE TALENT AND CREATIVITY HAVE NO LIMITS.

In 2020, Courir signed its first agreement to promote the professional integration and job retention of disabled workers.

Because every employee may one day find it difficult to carry out certain tasks due to illness or accident, we want to provide them with a suitable environment to enable them to express their skills and continue working.

Our aim is to ensure the long-term inclusion of employees with disabilities by giving them access to employment and career opportunities at Courir, through the implementation of a wide range of facilities and measures.

A mission that translates into numerous actions.

RELAI HANDICAP

Since 2023, Mission Handicap has been supported by 13 Handicap Relays located throughout France. Their role is to support employees with disabilities, identify health issues and raise awareness among teams.
Focus on
Casa 93
Since 2019, Courir has been a patron of Casa 93. This social project works to reveal the great creative strength of Seine-Saint-Denis. This new-style fashion school opens its doors free of charge to creative young people from the neighborhoods and working-class areas of Ile-de-France. Its pedagogical, educational and social mission is to define the contours of tomorrow's more committed, plural and eco-responsible fashion. Aspiring designers follow a three-month preparatory course - laying the foundations for their training. Casa 93 then supports students in their professional integration, whether they opt for a corporate career or to set up their own company.
Promote
Fulfilling career paths
With the launch of its major HR transformation project, Rise Up, Courir is underlining its determination to build its leadership on the talent and mobilization of its teams. Through this innovative program, the company aims to offer career paths that inspire and engage. Through training, an internal mobility policy and a new co-optation tool, Courir is innovating to shape an expert, aware corporate culture that matches its ambition.
New professional horizons with Rise Up

This HR transformation project reflects Courir's commitment as an employer brand. It aims to embody the brand's vision internally, encourage internal mobility and strengthen the corporate culture. To achieve this, the HR Department is deploying innovative new tools and measuring employee commitment through its Speak Up survey. This anonymous questionnaire enables us to assess the employee experience and thus guide future HR actions.
Assessments for in-store advancement

Assessment is the Courir process for internal promotion to store management positions. All employees wishing to be promoted to Team Manager or Store Manager must first pass an assessment.
A co-optation and mobility platform

Courir has set up a portal dedicated to internal co-optation and mobility. With just one click, our employees can view all open positions, recommend candidates or apply for jobs in less than 1 minute!

By recommending candidates, our employees can earn a bonus ranging from €300 to €2,000 gross (this amount varies according to the position).
Learning Spirit,
digital training

Launched in October 2022, Learning Spirit offers a wide range of learning opportunities: dynamic training courses in short formats lasting just a few minutes, perfectly adapted to the pace of in-store learning.

Every month, new content is released on a variety of subjects, such as products, sales techniques and in-store management processes. Something for every taste and interest
Preserve
Our environment by minimizing our footprint
Aware of the sneaker industry's impact on the environment, Courir is doing its part to drive positive change in its business ecosystem. This starts by limiting the footprint of its own activity. Courir is committed to challenging all its practices in order to make its value chain more virtuous and circular.

Since January 2023, Courir has been committed to a new mission: the collection of used sneakers in its stores, expressing in a concrete way its commitment to participate in a positive and sustainable transformation of the sneaker industry.
Raising awareness
and training teams

Courir is committed to raising the awareness of its teams: a specific training course is currently available (on the Learning Spirit digital e-learning platform) to make employees aware of the various eco-responsibility criteria. The idea behind this approach is also to cultivate a new priority expertise: that of responsible fashion.
The in-store
collection system

The essential first step in reversing the trend and meeting the recycling challenge is to collect used sneakers. Courir has taken on this new role since January 2023, gradually setting up collection points within its store network. Today, only 2% of products are collected through retail networks. It is therefore essential to increase the availability of voluntary collection points to better cover the territory and raise awareness among different types of public. Today, Courir makes it possible for anyone to drop off any type of sneaker, whether purchased at Courir or not. The service is currently available in around 15 stores.

The sneakers collected in this way are sent to the Plymouth factory, a French rubber manufacturer, an industrial player capable of tackling the recycling issue through innovation.
An industrial pilot
with an innovative process

As soon as the sneakers arrive at Plymouth, they are first sorted before entering a circuit specially designed by the factory to ensure their recycling. The various stages of this circuit are based on an innovative, patented process developed by the Plymouth factory: chemical-free thermomechanical devulcanization*.

Once sorted, the sneakers are crushed and devulcanized, reconstituting a reusable mixture. Plymouth then reincorporates this gum mixture into a new paste, composed of a proportion of recycled material from the sneakers. This paste was then used to develop prototypes of recycled floor tiles, and a prototype of recycled sneaker soles.
« The main challenge for Courir is to raise consumer awareness and get them involved in the project. Without them, the project doesn't make sense. How can we do this? By encouraging them to reduce the environmental impact of their sneakers, by not throwing them away, and by dropping them off at Courir stores. With this project, we're determined to help change the industry. »
Pierre Chambaudrie, CEO - Courir
The ultimate goal of the project
The aim of the "Recycle your ex-sneakers" project is to move towards a closed-loop circular economy model, by commercializing a new sneaker from these used sneakers that have been collected and then recycled. The project is still in development, but is making great strides. The two partners are now working on the possibility of recreating a complete sneaker incorporating their sole.
