Salomon: Time to play

Born in 1947 in the heart of the French Alps, Salomon has a long and rich history in running, outdoor sports, and winter sports. A leader in winter sports equipment, trail and outdoor footwear, Salomon constantly seeks to push the boundaries of mountain sports by creating innovative equipment that allows for enjoyment, improvement, and challenges. These products are developed at the Annecy Design Center at the foot of the Alps, where engineers, designers, and athletes collaborate to create new solutions aimed at continuously enhancing the outdoor experience for those for whom nature is a vast playground.

In a society dominated by speed and stress, we are increasingly taking less time to play and connect with nature. With its new Sneakers range, Salomon redefines its version of "Outdoor" to reach everyone who plays outside, from the mountains to city streets.

Salomon's Commitment to Sustainable Development

Through its sustainable development program Play Minded, Salomon is actively committed to promoting a more environmentally friendly economy. Salomon is part of the "Sustainable Apparel Coalition," whose Higgs index measures the environmental impact of brands and their products. Salomon is also a signatory, along with 42 other brands, of the United Nations Fashion Industry Charter for Climate Action, committing to apply or support 16 principles, including reducing carbon emissions by 30% by 2030, with the aim of achieving a carbon-neutral footprint by 2050.

Salomon has also committed to eliminating perfluorocarbons (PFCs) from all its equipment categories by 2023, which has already been achieved for all Salomon shoes as of fall 2020. And starting in 2022, a portion of the brand's shoe production will be manufactured in France, in Ardèche.

URBAN RANGE

As outdoor-inspired shoes gain increasing popularity among urbanites, several of Salomon's most iconic and ultra-technical models are sparking real enthusiasm in urban environments and fashion shows around the world. To bring this outdoor spirit to individuals inspired by both sports and the latest trends, Salomon recently structured its Urban collection into three sub-categories - Advanced, Intersections, and Sneakers - which debuted in spring 2020. At first glance, the blend of art and music-inspired fashion with outdoor shoes designed to tackle the toughest terrains may seem unusual. But Salomon's spring 2020 Urban collection proves that a successful combination of sport and elegance works just as well on a New York avenue as on an Alpine peak.

In spring 2020, Salomon Advanced (SA) launched a new collection of shoes born from the fusion of outdoor and urban fashion worlds. By combining the technical features that have made Salomon shoes famous with improved designs and valuable collaborations, Salomon Advanced aims to connect a contemporary urban audience with the natural outdoor world.
