BRAND HISTORY

It all began over 40 years ago with the model 10061, the Yellow Boot named Timberland, which became a flagship product. Its heritage of quality, authenticity, and durability continues today through collections that are in tune with our times.

Often imitated, never equaled. The Yellow Boot™. It all started in 1952 with Nathan Swartz and the Abington Shoe Company located in the industrial region of New England in the United States. A few years later, Nathan Swartz, along with his two sons Herman and Sydney, bought the entire company. The company continued to prosper for the next ten years. In 1973, the Swartz family revolutionized the footwear industry with a resolutely new idea: injecting the soles instead of sewing them to make them waterproof. To stand out from the competition, they envisioned an entirely new model that was comfortable, waterproof, almost indestructible, and wearable year-round: the "Timberland" boot.

The yellow boot becomes an instant classic. Due to the popularity of this model, the company's name officially became Timberland® in 1973. The brand was then exported to the European market in Italy in the early '80s, where it was met with immediate success.

TIMBERLAND CULTURE

In 1989, Timberland continued to win over the public by developing a range of hiking shoes. Lighter than the functional models designed for professionals, they were also quickly adopted, both by hikers and certain hip-hop stars who provided excellent promotion. For example, Notorious B.I.G or Nas were often seen wearing the timeless 6-Inch boots. Although the American company is often associated with the 6-Inch boots, it also offers other very popular ranges.
